{"id":26,"date":"2015-10-12T20:21:41","date_gmt":"2015-10-12T20:21:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.commiesfest.com\/?page_id=26"},"modified":"2025-01-11T13:31:46","modified_gmt":"2025-01-11T20:31:46","slug":"rules","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.commiesfest.com\/?page_id=26","title":{"rendered":"Attending"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>How We Judge a Model<\/p>\n<p>As judges, we are not deciding whether or not we like the subject.<br \/>\nWe are looking at two things: <strong>Fit and Finish<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fit: how well is the model constructed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are the parts fitted together well, with no gaps?<\/li>\n<li>Has the excess sprue from the sprue tree been\u00a0cleanly removed from the parts?<\/li>\n<li>Have ejector pin marks and resin bubbles been filled\u00a0or sanded away?<\/li>\n<li>Are there seams only where there should be seams?<\/li>\n<li>Has the glue been applied cleanly? (No visible glue\u00a0globs, please.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Finish: paint and weathering.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is paint texture consistent, with no pebbling, orange peel, or fingerprints?<\/li>\n<li>Are decals trimmed? Do they lay flat? Are they straight\/level, with no silvering?<\/li>\n<li>Are windscreens, canopies and other clear parts clean, clear, and polished, where appropriate?<\/li>\n<li>Is there a consistent level of surface detail?<\/li>\n<li>Is weathering \u201cto scale\u201d with the model?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How We Judge a Model As judges, we are not deciding whether or not we like the subject.
